Common Maintenance Issues and Troubleshooting Tips

  • Leaky Faucets: Tighten any loose parts, such as the tap handle, and check under the sink for any visible leaks.
  • Clogged Drains: Use a plunger or a drain snake to clear any blockages.
  • No Power to Outlets: First, ensure the outlet isn’t linked to a wall switch. Check your circuit breaker for any tripped circuits and reset if necessary.
  • Heater Not Warming Up: Confirm that the thermostat is set to “Heat” and check that the temperature setting is correct. Additionally, inspect air filters and replace them if they are clogged.
  • Air Conditioner Not Cooling: Verify that the thermostat is set to “Cool” and lower the temperature to prompt cooling. Clean or replace the air filter to ensure efficient airflow.
  • Thermostat Not Responding: Check the batteries in your thermostat if it fails to respond or displays incorrect readings. Replace the batteries with new ones if necessary to ensure optimal operation.
  • Smoke Alarms Beeping: If a smoke alarm is beeping intermittently, this could indicate low battery. Replace the batteries immediately to maintain your home’s safety and security.
